DEILMANN’S OCEAN CRUISES TO SAIL TO INDIAN OCEAN, SOUTH AFRICA, ARABIAN PENINSULA, MEDITERRANEAN, BLACK SEA IN 2006
Five-Star Deutschland to also cruise Western Europe, Norwegian Fjords, British Isles, Baltic, North Sea, Caribbean; Cruises to feature Music, Gardens, Golf and Riding Programs

NEW YORK, August 2, 2005 - Peter Deilmann Cruises’ five-star MS Deutschland will begin 2006 cruising to Indian Ocean islands and southern Africa and end the year in the Caribbean. On the sailing schedule of the 513-passenger luxury liner are ports of call on the Arabian Peninsula, Mediterranean, Black Sea, Western Europe, Norwegian Fjords, British Isles, Baltic and North Seas, South Atlantic and Caribbean.
Following the successful introduction of special interest cruises this year, Deilmann will offer them again in 2006 with golf and garden cruise programs available throughout the year, an onboard musical gala celebrating Mozart’s 250th anniversary in October and new equestrian riding programs in May, August and September. The musical tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Oct. 4-17, will celebrate the composer’s birth on a two-week cruise on the Mediterranean from Malaga to Piraeus (Athens).
Travelers from the U.S. who book any of the three Indian Ocean/South Africa sailings from Port Louis, Mauritius and Cape Town, South Africa, in January and February can take advantage of a special offer of free air, 10% reduced rates on cabins, 50% discount on English-language shore excusion packages and free airport/ship transfers.
The next sailings feature a Kenya to Dubai cruise visiting the Seychelles, Feb, 14-March 2, and a Dubai to Aqaba (Jordan) cruise, March 1-16. Egyptian and Turkish ports are highlights of a voyage to Istanbul, March 16-30, which also visits Yalta in the Ukraine, Limassol, Cyprus, and Varna, Bulgaria.
Black Sea and Mediterranean cruises are scheduled in April and May calling at ports in eastern Europe, Croatia, Crete, Italy, Monaco, France and Spain. Among the Italian destinations are the Lipari Islands, Syracuse, Naples, Genoa, Livorno (Florence) and Ajaccio, Corsica, while Spanish port calls include Barcelona and the Costa del Sol.
British Isles, Norwegian Fjords
On May 6, the 286-cabin Deutschland departs from Malaga,crosses the Straits of Gilbrater to the Atlantic to call at Tangier, Morocco; Lisbon, Portugal; La Coruna and Santander, Spain, and La Palice and St. Malo in France, before arriving in Hamburg on May 18. Norwegian Fjords and British Isles comprise the next two itineraries. May 18-June 9, with visits to London and Falmouth in England, Cobb and Dublin in Ireland and Edinburgh,Scotland.
A 16-night Norwegian Fjords voyage during the Midnight Sun season is scheduled June 12-28, followed by a 12-night cruise to the Scandinavia capitals of Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; Riga; Latvia, and Gdansk, Poland. Norwegian Fjords are visited once again, July 10-19, while the Hebrides Islands, Reykjavik in Iceland, ports in Greenland and Aberdeen, Scotland, are highlights of a 21-night itinerary on the North Sea, July 22-Aug. 12.
Two 13-night cruises – one to the British Isles from London to Dublin, Belfast and Plymouth, Aug. 12-28, and the other to Baltic Sea cities from Gdansk to St. Petersburg, Stockholm and Kalmar in Sweden, Riga, Latvia, and Klaipeda, Lithuania - are Aug. 28 to Sept. 10. The English ports of Hull, Plymouth, Pembroke Dock and Liverpool are among the stops on an 11-night sailing that overnights in London and visits Amsterdam, Sept. 10–21, while an Atlantic to Mediterranean cruise from Hamburg to Malaga, visits cities in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal, Sept. 21-Oct. 4.
Western Mediterranean cruises resume in October with a 13-night music cruise to Piraeus (Athens) that begins in Malaga and calls at Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Toulon (France), Monte Carlo, Civitavecchia (Rome), Valetta (Malta) and Heraklion (Crete), Oct. 4-17. A Black Sea cruise roundtrip from Piraeus, Oct. 17-27, calls at the seaports of Varna (Bulgaria), Odessa and Yalta in Ukraine, Constanta in Romania and Sinop and Istanbul in Turkey. A Mediterranean crossing from east to west (Piraeus to Palma de Mallorca) is planned for Oct. 27-Nov. 18, with visits to Antalya, Turkey; Beirut, Lebanon; Alexandria, Egypt; Tripoli, Libya, and La Goulette, Tunisia.
Canary Islands, Caribbean
Four Canary Islands (Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma and Gran Canaria) and three ports in Morocco (Tangier, Casablanca and Agadir) highlight the 10-night cruise from Palma de Mallorca to Santa Cruz, Tenerife, Nov. 10-20. A seven-night South Atlantic crossing from Tenerife to Barbados brings the Deutschland to the Caribbean and a roundtrip sailing from Bridgetown to Martinique, Antigua, Tortola, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Venezuela and Grenada, Nov. 28-Dec. 12.
The five-star Deutschland, launched in 1998, is a nine-deck ship designed in art deco and art nouveau styles recalling the grand days of ocean travel of the 1920’s.
