On the itinerary on the second sailing, Aug. 12-25, are London and Plymouth in England; the charming town of Cobh, Glenngariff and its famous waterfalls, the fishing port of Killybegs and Dublin in Ireland and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Golf, garden and equestrian packages are available on this 13-night cruise and optional active excursions feature a hike in West Cork and fishing.
The third British Isles voyage, Sept. 10-21, departs from the north German port city of Travemünde and sails to Hull to discover its 16th century past and historic York, Plymouth, Liverpool (home of the Beatles) and Dover (London), Pembroke Dock in Wales for a tour of scenic Pembrokeshire and also calls at the Dutch capital of Amsterdam enroute to Hamburg, where passengers disembark. For active cruisers, this sailing offers optional excursions of hiking in the Dartmoor National Forest and fly fishing.
A luxury ocean liner that recalls the days of grand ocean travel, the MS Deutschland was launched in 1998 and is meticulously refurbished every year. The five-star ship has just 286 beautifully appointed staterooms for a maximum of 520 passengers and offers a very high level of service with a 2-to-1 passenger-to-crew ratio. The Deutschland was built by Peter Deilmann for discriminating travelers who want a traditional cruise experience in a gleaming ship designed in art nouveau and art deco styles.
